About Us
Not Your Ordinary Fashion Show (NYOFS) was created with purpose, passion, and the desire to make space for those who deserve to be seen. It all started in 2022 when our founder, Kiara Thompson, hosted a launch party fashion show to introduce her original brand. The event sold out—and the love, support, and energy that night made it clear this was just the beginning. By popular demand, she decided to do it again the following year, and ever since then, NYOFS has consistently delivered sold-out experiences year after year. We give all glory to God for the vision, the growth, and the impact NYOFS continues to make.
For the first few years, NYOFS hosted one show annually, each one bigger and more meaningful than the last. In December 2024, we took things to the next level with our first-ever kids fashion show, launching a new tradition that now allows us to host two shows every year—one open to all ages and one created specifically for young dreamers.
NYOFS is built on inclusion and intention. We give a platform to models, designers, vendors, performers, and service providers—regardless of background, size, experience, or age. Our mission is to shine a light on everyday people with extraordinary talent and help them walk boldly in their gifts.
We believe fashion is more than just fabric—it's freedom, expression, and purpose. And at NYOFS, everyone belongs on the runway.
Meet the Founder
Kiara Thompson is a creative visionary, entrepreneur, wife, and mother who wears many hats—and wears them with purpose. What started as a simple launch event for her fashion brand quickly evolved into something bigger than herself. She didn’t set out to create a fashion movement, but when she saw how people connected to the experience, she leaned all the way in.
With no big budget or blueprint, Kiara used her creativity, hustle, and heart to build NYOFS from the ground up. Her goal has always been to create space where real people feel seen. From kids discovering their confidence on the runway to local vendors being spotlighted in front of new audiences, Kiara’s mission is rooted in community, visibility, and impact.
She believes fashion is more than just clothes—it’s a way to tell your story. And with NYOFS, she’s built a platform where those stories shine.
